This oil is obtained from an evergreen tree with a spongy bark and flexible trunk, sharp pointed leaves and sessile yellow flowers.
The oil is called gomenol because it was formerly shipped from Gomen's ship in the French East Indies.
Today it is used in pharmaceutical preparations such as gargles, toothpastes and mouthwashes.
